If you have a home garden, large or small, and you have fresh fruits and vegetables you cannot use, please do not let them wither on the vine. Any extra produce you grow will help our neighbors in need. WUMCO, Community Farmshare, the Little Free Pantry at Poolesville Presbyterian Church (PPC), and KPC Buddhist Temple can help make the logistics of donating your extra fresh produce easy. These local organizations work closely together to provide assistance to those neighbors with food security issues. Read More.
Please drop off any extra backyard produce either directly at WUMCO Help (adjacent to the United Memorial Methodist Church) during their hours (9-12 weekdays) or on Produce Distribution Thursdays before 3:00 pm. You can also leave produce at the PPC Little Free Pantry on Rt. 109 or consult Locals Farm Market regarding their community cold shed available for produce drop off on Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat and Sun 7a.m.-3 p.m. From here, the produce will be sorted, bagged, and delivered to WUMCO. Surplus donations will be delivered to other food assistance providers.
