Scouting for Food is a community effort, powered by local scouts, to help restock local food pantries in advance of the holidays. Our Poolesville area Scouts were out on November 1st placing door tag pickup date reminders on doors in town. The scouts will be back on November 8th between 9 and 11 am to collect your food donations to benefit our local community through WUMCO.
This may be an especially rough year and holiday season coming up for many of your friends and neighbors in our community, so let's make this the best scouting for food year ever and stock those shelves!
Please leave the bagged food by your front door. No expired or open food. Please.
Shelf stable foods of any kind are helpful, especially:
Canned Vegetables and Fruits, Soups, Pasta, and Sauce, Canned Tuna and Chicken, Breakfast Foods, Mac 'n Cheese, Cooking Oil, Personal Hygiene, Cleaning Products.
If you live outside of Poolesville and would like to drop off food, you can bring it to WUMCO directly – 17821 Elgin Rd., Poolesville.
