Welcome to Poolesville Seniors pickleball. You only need to register once for this activity. You can then attend any day of play without re registering.
The following schedule is currently in effect, however, playing courts are sometimes unavailable for a variety of reasons, which may cause that day's play to be canceled. Cancellation notices are posted on the Facebook Poolesville Pickleball page. Please visit this page to stay up to date on these changes. On Facebook, you can search 'Poolesville Pickleball' group and request to join if you have already registered on this page.
OUTDOOR PLAY – APRIL 1 – NOVEMBER 30. OUTDOOR PLAY IS WEATHER DEPENDENT
Outdoor play is at Stevens Park in Poolesville. Summer play is impacted by the Town's Summer Camps program, which limits availability of the Stevens Park courts from mid-June to mid-August. Specific dates are based on the Town's camp schedule and will be posted on the Facebook page as soon as that information becomes available.
From April 1- mid June, pickleball is played Monday through Friday. In April, play times are 8:30am to 12:30pm. May through mid-June, play times are 7:30am to 12:30pm. The entire play session is open to all players.
When the town camp begins, play is still Monday-Friday, by court time is limited, so play is 7:00am – 10:00am. This schedule is in effect from mid-June to mid-August. From mid-August through November 30, play hours return to 7:30am to 12:30pm, Monday-Friday.
In addition to the morning play, Poolesville Pickleball offers informal play one night a week at Owens Park in Beallsville, MD. Play hours are Tuesday evenings 6pm until dark, beginning in mid-April until the cold weather sets in (usually November). These courts are equipped with lights to facilitate play. INDOOR PLAY – DECEMBER 1 – MARCH 31
The indoor play location is the gym at the Poolesville Baptist Church-17550 West Willard Road. Open play is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, 8:30am to 12:30pm. Due to space limitations, there are only 3 courts available, this four-hour time slot is divided into two separate sessions – 8:30am-10:30am and 10:30am-12:30pm. We ask all players to choose one session and abide by the time limits for that session. You can choose a different session each day as your schedule permits.
In addition, there is one three-hour play session on Tuesdays – 8:30am to 11:30am. This is open to all players, but the session will concentrate on skills development and drills. Game play is limited. There is also one three-hour session on Thursday mornings, 8:30am to 11:30am, dedicated to Ladder League play. This is competitive play, with players assigned to one of five groups by skill level and ranked weekly in accordance with their won/loss record within their group. If you are interested in Ladder League play, you can speak with Norm Spencer and ask to be included.
