Spring is a wonderful time to get out and explore the countryside that surrounds us! And what better excuse than the Countryside Artisans Spring Tour April 19th – 21st, 10 to 5 p.m. Use the tour map to plan your visit to a select group of 19 accomplished visual, sculptural, and textile artists living and working in both historic and rural areas of Montgomery, Howard, and Frederick Counties of Maryland. You will find artists offering an array of artwork, mediums and gifts for every occasion. Get a head start on shopping for Mother’s Day or Teacher Appreciation Week.
Each studio is located within a 30-mile radius of Sugarloaf Mountain, a highlight of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve, and offers an alternative to in-store retail shopping in artist and artisan galleries and studios for special art tours. There are 4 studios open in Barnesville, one in Beallsville, and one in Poolesville, one on Rt. 28.
Make a day of it and lunch in one of the Poolesville restaurants or order your lunch and take it on tour.
All the artists are busy working throughout the year and look forward to your visit (by appointment) anytime. Visit the Artists link to see examples of artwork and to find contact information for individual artists and studios. The Countryside Artisans look forward to working with you year-round and hope to see you on this Spring Tour, the Fall Tour Oct – 6, and Winter Tour Dec 6 – 8, 2024.
