Multigenerational Service Project

On January 31st from 2:00 to 3:00, in an intergenerational event, nine Poolesville Seniors volunteers and 18 middle students from the Barnesville school worked together for a volunteer service project. 

The group created and worked an assembly line to package art kits with Story Tapestries. Story Tapestries is a non-profit organization with local ties that works to inspire and motivate everyone to engage in the arts.

Poolesville Seniors depends on our great volunteers so much. The group that put together this years’ WUMCO Scarecrow Contest Entry knocked it right out of the Pickleball Court!!! Many thanks to Susan Proper, Ann Connor, Mary Bernardo, Kay Douglass and Allen Proper. New Monthly Trail Hike Series

Beginning on Tuesday 10/17 Poolesville Seniors is debuting a new series of longer 4 – 6-mile trail hikes lasting approximately 2 – 3 hours in nearby parks. Led by hiking enthusiasts Gwen Haney and Karen Dansby, these monthly trail hikes will offer a bit more challenge than our C&O Pop-up Walks. They will be limited to 15 participants. Do you know about the Plant an Extra Row initiative started by Sustainable Barnesville in cooperation with WUMCO in 2020?
