Come and enjoy a recent movie, pizza and snacks. This FREE opportunity is usually on the third Tuesday each month (may vary depending on the month).
The fastest growing sport in America is offered four times a week. The game is easy to learn, but can turn into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game with experience. All levels of skill and age are welcome to join the fun.
This sport is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong and is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes on a court that is smaller than a tennis court. And most of the time, we play in a climate controlled environment. Check out the calendar for days and times. This event is FREE.
This game originated in China during the Qing dynasty and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. It is commonly played by four players and is similar to the card game rummy. Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. Join us on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. This event is FREE.
Like the traditional Latin-inspired Zumba workout, the Zumba Gold class incorporates many of the dance/fitness routines set to Latin and international rhythms but is performed at a lower intensity. Come for the camaraderie, the exercise and the fun every Wednesday at 1:00 pm. This class is FREE.
Chair yoga is a great way to get the wonderful health benefits of yoga while staying seated or holding on to a chair. Yoga is an excellent way to loosen and stretch painful muscles, reduce stress and improve circulation. This FREE class is offered on Mondays at 11:00 am.
On the third Thursday of the month, the Book Club meets to discuss the current selection. The club is currently meeting virtually and lively discussion ensues. Email us to find out the book for the month and the location of the meeting.
Watch the calendar for scheduled Bingo games usually accompanied by lunch and lots of great prizes. Sometimes we change it up a bit and do a holiday bingo game!
Various Arts and Crafts classes happen throughout the year, usually offered monthly, taught by different teachers. These opportunities are usually free but sometimes require a fee to cover the cost of supplies.
We also have many events that are intended to simply get people together in a friendly setting, whether that be one of our quarterly socials with entertainment, or our annual fundraiser held every February.
We offer enlightening seminars on a variety of topics of interest to our audience.
Our occasional bus trips take people to a variety of destinations in the Washington DC area.
The cards will be out soon – we’re getting ready to kick-off the Poolesville Seniors Bridge group! Check back in early 2020 for more details!
