Join Gwen Haney and Karen Dansby on Thursday June 13 at 9:00 a.m. for a trail hike in Little Bennett Regional Park. This will be a 5.2-mile hike starting at the Kingsley Trailhead on Clarksburg Road. We will take the Hard Cider Trail to Perdum, Browning Run, Pine Knob, and Logger’s Trails and return on the Kingsley Trail, with a stop at the Kingsley Schoolhouse (1893-1935). The trail is mainly wooded and packed dirt with some roots and rocks. It has 360 feet of elevation gain. We will maintain a moderate pace and should complete the hike in under 2.5 hours.
Directions: From Rt. 28 at Lewis Orchard, take Peach Tree Road east for 3.5 miles. Turn right onto Comus Road for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Rt. 355 S for 1 mile. Turn left onto Clarksburg Road and go about 1 mile. Kingsley Trailhead is the 2nd trailhead on the right. Please note there may still be construction at the intersection of Rt. 355 and Clarksburg Rd. so factor in a few extra minutes.
We will leave the trailhead at 9:00 and ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to be prepared.
Rain date will be June 20.
