Come out to support the Poolesville Seniors team participating in the Montgomery County Recreation Cardboard Boat Regatta that will be held at Martin Luther King Jr. Indoor Swim Center Pool on March 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

This is the second year the county is holding this event and the first time that Poolesville Seniors is sending a team to compete. Each boat will race against time to be declared the fastest vessel in the water. The only catch, each boat must be made out of cardboard, duct tape and garbage bags only. There will also be additional awards for Team Spirit, Spectacular Sink, and for the most creative cruiser.

The aim is to paddle our boat across the pool and back in a timed heat. As with all team endeavors, the PS team will certainly do better with a large group to cheer them on.

Make plans to attend this hilarious event and bring your friends and neighbors of all ages to lend moral support to the only organization in western Montgomery County providing recreation activities for those 50+. Show the county that you love … Poolesville Seniors! Let’s turn out the in numbers to represent Poolesville with the county.

Location: MLK Aquatic Center 1201 Jackson Rd. Silver Spring, MD. ARRIVE EARLY TO SECURE A SEAT.
