Most of our book club loved the May selection, Hamnet by Maggie O Farrell. We found the language lyrical, and the retelling of the 16th century family relationship from the perspective of the wife, Agnes, intriguing. The story of living in the age of the plague and the consequences on this family are particularly poignant these days.
Get a head start on our next month’s read, Yellowbird, a real-life crime mystery with a side of social criticism, by Sierra Crane Murdoch.
