Poolesville Seniors has a lovely color print of an original Poolesville streetscape painting, an acrylic with palette knife, by Robert Brown. The longtime owner of the Potomac Frame and Art Gallery in the Frederick Poole House, appears to have been inspired by a vintage photo of Fisher Avenue, complete with horses and buggies with the Old Town Hall Museum prominently featured.
Mr. Brown’s description of this work was, “This Poolesville streetscape color print on stretched canvas “220 Years of History” is a depiction of a peaceful and impressive history of Poolesville through a beautifully executed acrylic painting. Rustic style art used natural and earthy colors that exhibit a sense of warmth and nostalgia.”
Mr. Brown was born in West Virginia and attended New York’s Institute of Art and Photography. He lived in Florida and had a photography and several framing businesses. In 1980, he moved to Poolesville and established Potomac Framing/Art Gallery at Frederick Poole House, Fisher Avenue for art sales, custom framing, matt cutting, oil paintings restoration, photographs and corporate account designs.
Robert’s top passions in life were photography, travel, and family. He enjoyed seeing multiple sceneries. He captured and shared the beauty of such events through the different mediums of his artwork. Robert Gerald Brown passed away in 2018. This print will be available in the Heart ‘n Soul online auction fundraiser starting February 11th.
