Artist Susan Due Pearcy, moved to her Barnesville Sugarloaf Studio in 1997 and joined the Countryside Artisans. Susan offers a vast array of original prints, paintings and photographs celebrating nature’s beauty. 

Susan’s art is held internationally in the permanent collection of the Pushkin Museum, Russia, the Chemalier Museum, France, the National Gallery of Art Rare Book Collection, Washington, DC, Museum of Modern Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Katzen Museum, National Museum of Women in the Arts, National Institutes of Health, Library of Congress, the National Reserve, Indonesian Embassy, and others. 

The artwork she produced while working with the United Farmworkers has been purchased by the Yale University Beinecke Rare Book Library, UCLA, Stanford University, Univ. of CA – San Diego and Georgetown University. In 2018 the Library of Congress in Washington, DC began archiving her art, letters, poems, journals, sketchbooks, watercolors and ephemera from her work with the United Farmworkers and the art created during her work in the Civil Rights Movement in southwest Georgia in the late 60’s-’70’s. 

Susan was selected as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2009 by The Daily Record in Baltimore, MD. She is a Signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society.  

Until the pandemic, Susan had been a weekly volunteer at the National Institutes of Health for 25 years where she promotes art, working with hospitalized children.  Susan is also a faithful supporter, participant and volunteer for Poolesville Seniors.
