Following the approval of the Town of Poolesville Commissioners to add an extra pickleball court at Stevens Park, Poolesville Seniors welcomed 25 would-be enthusiasts to our Beginner Clinic for the game that’s sweeping the nation and our community, Pickleball.
Thanks to our volunteer instructors, Board Members Melissa Rose, Bill McDonald, Claire Gunster-Kirby along with several other practiced players including Norm Spencer, and Jane and Terry Clark, an intrepid group of pickleball newbies received a two-hour taste of running drills, learned to stay out of the kitchen, and were advised to swing low and down the middle to beat their opponents – all priceless tips as they continue their game moving forward.
Hopefully, these newly minted players will come out in this beautiful fall weather and play with the rest of us again sometime soon.
