It may be difficult to think of Spring in the middle of an arctic freeze, but if you are a gardener, you need to prepare for Spring beginning with the big Seed Swap on Saturday, January 31st. The Poolesville Community Garden, located at the Poolesville Presbyterian Church property is sponsoring a SEED SWAP at the church Speer Hall 17800 Elgin Rd.  

Drop by this free event anytime during the hours of 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.   

What to Bring: 

  • Partial or full seed packets you no longer need 
  • Seeds you have saved- please label with variety, year saved and separate into multiple envelopes for easy exchange 
  • Plants or bulbs to share 
  • Seed starting equipment (containers) you wish to share 

HOW IT WORKS: 

  • Come early for the best selection, especially if you have seeds to share 
  • Tables are set up by category – place seeds you have to share on tables 
  • If you don't have seeds to share you can still participate 
  • A large variety of seed packets are available from the Poolesville Community Garden Seed Library 
  • Seeds are free, select seeds you want to try in your garden
