Dean Gray Wroth is an artist and illustrator who grew up in the Poolesville area and attended Poolesville High School.  Her family had been in the area for many generations.  She received a BA in Fine Art from Marietta College in Ohio.

Living in Poolesville, she worked as a freelance artist during her career, painting portraits, illustrating books, and capturing many of the local historic buildings and scenes with watercolors. She was commissioned to paint large wall murals in the original Healthworks space and the entrance buildings to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

At one time she served as arts and crafts supervisor with Maryland’s Montgomery County Department of Recreation.  Her interests include gardening, cooking, classical music, and ballet.  Dean is the illustrator of The Mysterious Tail of a Charleston Cat, All About Charleston and The Man Who Loved the Flag.

Ms. Wroth is one of several artists whose works we will be featuring in our Heart n’ Soul online auction fundraiser.
