This past week Kenny Sholes joined us for his latest Historic Ag Reserve Properties Lecture. This month’s theme was “Then and Now”. Kenny shared photos of historic “downtown” which gave awesome insight to the origins of Poolesville as we know it today. Those who attended the presentation on Thursday were engaged and several added their remembrances and knowledge of the town’s past streetscapes

Did you know that the site of the Calleva store and office was the home of Hoskinson’s General Merchandise Store in 1876 and that the 1923 fire which started inside destroyed the entire business section of Poolesville as reported on the front page of Washington’s Evening Star?

Thank you, Kenny, for once again hosting a memorable hourIf you missed this installment in the series of Ag Reserve Properties, click here for the recording.
