The first week of September will mark the sixty-seventh anniversary of the end of segregation at what was then the Poolesville combined K-12 School. The worlds of caregiving, aging and art collide in the art exhibit on view through September 17th at Riverworks Artist in the House Gallery at Locals Farm Market in Poolesville. The exhibition by Rockville community artist Patricia Dubroof, is supported by a 2023 Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant. In this ongoing project, Patricia is learning more about caregivers by conducting interviews with both family and professional caregivers.

Truth and Hope Outreach is a local volunteer group that meets twice a month to work on outreach-targeted projects. In 2022, their outreach extended to local families and those in Peru, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, India, Kenya, Cuba, and various Central American countries. 

Their contributions include comforters, baby bundles, eye glass cases, school kits, street packs, afghans, tablecloths, shoes, mirrors, personal hygiene items, and more.

Montgomery County’s Montgomery Connects Program is launching a new program to distribute 34,000 Chromebook laptop computers through the Maryland Connected Devices program.
