Mary Ann Jung gave us a memorable performance as astronaut Sally Ride on Tuesday afternoon, the return of our in-person quarterly events. In 1984, Mission Specialist Ride was the first American female in space and after her second mission in 1984, she was the first female to go to space twice. She was also the youngest person in orbit. We learned some fascinating facts about training for and being in space from Jung as she truly inhabited Sally Ride for the afternoon.
