As we get older there are many things we can complain about, but the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles offers a perk for Seniors, 70 years of age or older whose vehicle is driven less than 5,000 miles per year.
When you receive a notice for your next VEIP testing notice, you can request a waiver for the two-year test cycle.
All vehicle owners and co-owners must be at least 70 years of age to qualify for this waiver. Using the EP-001A form notice sent to you or by downloading it here , please indicate that all owners are over 70 years of age, write the vehicle’s current mileage, sign and date (all owners must sign), and send it back to the VEIP Program.
NOTE: Miles driven for a nonprofit organization can be deducted from your annual mileage with written certification on the organization’s letterhead.
