Lon Anderson, a graduate of Montgomery College, the University of Maryland, and American University, has been actively involved in photography for many decades. Starting as a college journalist, Lon continued his photojournalism work with multiple weekly newspapers in suburban Maryland and Hardy County, West Virginia. 

Before his long career with AAA Mid-Atlantic as chief spokesman and lobbyist, he opened a camera store and photo studio in Olney, Maryland. Now retired and living in North Carolina, Lon pursues his love of capturing beautiful images with a focus on mountain scenery and wildlife, the Chesapeake Bay, the Eastern Shore, and his latest travel destinations. 

His work has earned many honors in competitions both at the National Press Club and in the Shenendoah Photographic Society.
