Many thanks to Rande Davis who made use of his many years as a Historic Medley District docent and John Poole re-enactor to enlighten us about the John Poole House and its owners and inhabitants. We learned a great deal of history about HMD and JPH. The trivia questions stumped most of us, even a few of the most dedicated area history buffs.

If you would like to volunteer as a JPH docent to recount the history of the buildings and grounds, no prior skills are necessary, you do not need to be costumed and training materials are provided.  The John Poole House will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 10th and 17th (Poolesville Day), October 1st and 15th, and November 5th and 19th.
