Saturday June 10th will be a busy day in Poolesville. Invite your friends, neighbors and relatives to sample some of the activities.

Start the day by joining Sustainable Poolesville and Poolesville Green from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with a clean-up at Steven’s Park or head to the Baptist Church for the WUMCO Community Health Clinic from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Declutter your paper trail at the Monocacy Lions Paper Shredding event at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church from 9:00 to noon. Then you can reward yourself by enjoying the rest of the day.

The Poolesville Farmer’s Market will be open 10-2:00 p.m. and the UMCVFD Pork and Beef BBQ & Bake Sale Fundraiser will be open at UMCVFD starting at 11:00 a.m. until they run out or 2:00 p.m.

Saturday will be a big day for Riverworks and a great opportunity to get a Taste of Riverworks. This local non-profit has a mission to build community through the arts and has a great outdoor fundraising festival planned. The festival will begin the day with Plein Air Artist Site Tours from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.  through Poolesville and the Ag Reserve to enjoy scenery, heritage, wine, beer and watch the artists at work. You can chart your own tour or better yet ‘hop on the bus’ at 10:45 a.m. at 17617 W. Willard Rd. Riverworks will have three different tour itineraries by bus and your ticket includes a boxed lunch from Locals. What more could you ask than an Art and Alcohol tour of the Ag Reserve?

Rest and socialize from 2:00p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with live music at Locals, then enjoy more festival at the soon-to-be Riverworks Performing Arts Center at the W. Willard location from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bid on the day’s artwork while enjoying live music, dance performances by Hope Garden Children’s Ballet and Essence Studio dancers from 4 – 4:30 p.m., adult and children’s art activities, and a silent auction from 4 – 7 p.m. supporting Hope Garden Children’s Ballet Theater, beer and wine tent–and, of course, LOCALS food!
