On Friday January 14, 2022, the Biden administration announced that Americans can begin ordering free at-home Covid rapid tests starting Wednesday January 19, 2022. These tests can be ordered using the website COVIDTests.gov. A phone number will also be made available for those without internet access.
Tests should ship within 7-12 days of placing the order, meaning the earliest you will receive a test kit is the end of January. The site will ask for your name and mailing address. If desired, you can share your email to receive updates on the progress of your order.
The government will also be making available free N95/KN95 masks. Details are not yet available. Poolesville Seniors will post this information when it is available.
