Our first online (Zoom-based) book club meeting was held on Monday January 25, and it was a big success. With a group of almost twenty participants, we discussed The Dutch House, by Ann Patchett. There was no shortage of conversation or points of view about the life of Cyril Conroy, as well as his sister Maeve, and their connection to the old mansion where they grew up. The consensus appeared to be that this was an excellent read, and highly recommended.
A big thank you goes out to Michelle Roche, our book club coordinator who kept us on track and challenged us with pertinent questions.
Next Month
The club plans to meet monthly (every 4th Monday). Our February selection is The Island of Sea Women, a historical fiction by Lisa See. Please join us!
