Join Gwen Haney and Karen Dansby for a trail hike on Tuesday October 17th at 10:15 a.m. exploring Seneca Creek State Park. The circumnavigational hike is 5 miles long and takes about 2 hours. The trail is packed dirt with tree roots. The trees along Long Draught Trail are wonderful. The vistas of Clopper Lake are beautiful. Perhaps fall colors will be a treat. Boots are recommended as there are tree roots. Water and a snack are also advised. Some up and down hills, no rock scrambles. Easy to moderate hike.
We will meet at Kingfisher Overlook (parking). There is currently no entrance fee for the park.
Directions: The entrance to Seneca Creek State Park is on Clopper Road. Drive 1 mile and park on the left at Kingfisher Overlook. This will be our meeting point. We will hike from Kingfisher Overlook to Long Draught Trail (Yellow Blaze)>Mink Hollow Trail (White Blaze)>Lake Shore Trail (Blue Blaze).
Rain Date: October 19th. Watch the web site and your email for information in case of inclement weather.
