This event has been rescheduled from May 9th to the rain date of May 16th:
Join Gwen Haney and Karen Dansby on Thursday, May 16th at 9:30 am for a trail hike along Seneca Creek known as Seneca Bluffs. This trail is a single 5-6 mile roundtrip hike with packed dirt and dead leaves. There are no rock scrambles. We hike above and on the other side of the Seneca Creek Greenway hike that we did in March. The trail is a linear trail in and out. It should take a little over 2-21/2 hours. These hikes are for moderate to serious hikers. Boots and a snack are recommended. There are no restrooms on this hike. Rain date is Thursday, May 16. Please be at either parking lot 10 minutes before the start of the hike. We will meet at the trailhead and leave promptly at 9:30 am.
Directions: Drive east from Poolesville on Route 28. The trailhead is 0.3 miles past the Route 28-Route 107 junction, just before you cross the bridge over Seneca Creek (on east side). You can park either on the east or west side of Route 28 or drive 0.4 miles from the junction to the parking lot where we parked for the Seneca Creek-Greenway hike. You must be careful crossing Route 28, as the traffic speeds through this area. We will meet and leave at the trailhead promptly at 9:30 am.
