Magpie Murders is a mystery novel by Anthony Horowitz. It uses a story-within-a-story format to follow Susan Ryeland an unmarried, middle-aged editor. When she receives the latest mystery novel from their star author, the last chapter is missing. Susan searches for the missing last chapter, as she is convinced the chapter holds the clues to a series of deaths, the preservation of the publisher’s business and her own career. It is the first Susan Ryeland novel.
