Praying for Sheetrock by Melissa Fay Greene
Praying for Sheetrock is the non-fiction saga of the first black commissioner in a Georgia backwater seemingly bypassed by the civil rights movement. The political awakening of this isolated African American community in coastal McIntosh County is accelerated by events that challenge the power-wielding sheriff and generate a struggle for justice and dignity.
