NOAA’s Role in Regulating Outer Space

Join Glenn Tallia on July 14th at 7:00 pm for a brief overview of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). From daily weather forecasts to space commerce, NOAA’s products and services support economic vitality and affect more than one-third of America’s gross domestic product. In addition, Glenn’s presentation will explain the important role NOAA plays in supporting the growing U.S. space industry and its effort to address the problem of “space junk”. 

Glenn E. Tallia, Esquire is the Chief Legal Counsel for Weather, Space Services and Research, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of General Counsel, U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC). Mr. Tallia manages a staff of attorneys and related professional staff providing legal counsel to the U.S. National Weather Service, the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, including the U.S. Global Climate Change Science Program, as well as NOAA’s commercial remote sensing licensing and enforcement program and the DOC Office of Space Commerce. He is also responsible for advising the agency on environmental compliance and employee safety matters.
