Did you know that the largest tree in the state of Maryland is growing in right here Dickerson Conservation Park? Joli will present a program highlighting champion trees in Montgomery County.
The goal of her MoCo Measuring Team, including Joe Howard and Vince Fillah, is to identify the largest of each species of trees growing in the county. Be prepared for a few surprises!
Presenter Short Bio: Joli McCathran serves as Co-Chair of the Maryland Big Tree Program and is president of the Maryland Association of Forestry Boards. She is the Treasurer of the Montgomery County Forestry Board and is Co-Chair of the Montgomery County Champion Tree Program. Joli is also the Maryland State Coordinator for the American Forests National Champion Tree Program and is a member of the American Forests National Cadre of Tree Measurers. She is a former Mayor of the Town of Washington Grove. She resides in Washington Grove with her husband and spends as much time as possible playing with her grandsons.
