Join Poolesville Seniors on September 6th at 6:00 p.m. for a Friday Night Polo Social at the Seneca Polo Club in Poolesville, MD. Experience this state-of-the-art Ag Reserve treasure and meet up for a friendly one-hour pre-match social gathering when the gates open at 6:00 p.m. Relax with your own picnic and a cool drink on the grassy hill prior to the match. (Adult beverages permitted) Bring a picnic blanket or chair, coolers allowed.
We have arranged for you to learn about this ancient game with a short “Intro to Polo” from Seneca Polo Club. You may be able to get up close and personal with one of the polo ponies at halftime.
The polo match lasts 1 ½ – 2 hours and begins at 7:00 p.m. Wear appropriate shoes for walking near horses. The viewing areas are on an adjacent grassy hill, or down some stairs to the viewing stand next to the field. The bathroom is up a step in the Club House. Anyone with mobility issues is welcome but should be accompanied by an assistant. Directions will be provided with registration. Admission is free for Poolesville Seniors. There is additional parking in the area down the slope behind the arena. Please courteously observe the reduced 10 mph speed limit on the long shared driveway through the Bascule Equestrian farmyard.
Seneca Polo Club The club is currently home to Georgetown University Polo, and 2 Seneca Interscholastic High School teams.
