Do No Harm Preservation Tips with Cemetery Archivist Glenn Wallace

Loading Events

Join Glenn Wallace on December 2nd at 7 pm for a mini master class in cemetery preservation. Many who attended Glenn’s previous event about the Montgomery County Cemetery Inventory Project had questions about simple preservation techniques for graves and markers. Glenn will bring us his “do no harm” methods to safely clean, preserve, and maintain grave markers in the gentlest, least intrusive way.

Glenn Wallace, a cemetery archivist from Montgomery Village, merged his love of genealogy and history in his 33-year commitment to researching cemeteries and their social significance. His past 14 years were dedicated to archiving the Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, Montgomery County. His work includes mapping the burial ground, photographing gravestones, researching the family trees of every person buried there, and creating a complete digital database that will benefit not only the cemetery itself, but also those interested in researching their relatives who came from this area.
