Twyla Insalaco is a 500hr Certified Yoga Instructor specializing in Vinyasa (flow) yoga.  She’s been teaching from her home studio in Poolesville, in corporate settings and in elementary schools since 2012.  She also specializes in Chair Yoga where traditional yoga poses are practiced with the help of a chair.  Each class starts with a few minutes of breath work, then slowly flows into yoga poses aimed to build strength and lengthen tight muscles. Class ends with a short meditation and relaxation pose or Savasana. All poses can be modified to fit the student’s body type and ability.  Yoga is a great tool to help the body reach homeostasis i.e.achieving a state of balance between everyday stress and challenges (fight or flight) and feelings of low energy and sluggishness (rest and digest).  And most importantly, yoga can help to connect and ground the mind, body and breath to achieve better focus and a better relationship with oneself and with others.
