Just in time for the Poolesville Seniors’ visit to the internationally acclaimed Glenstone Museum several new exhibits will be on view.

Ellsworth Kelly at 100, a major touring survey exhibition, is opening May 4, 2023. From the 1950s to the 2010s, Kelly’s vision of the world emerged as abstract and vivid paintings, sculptures, collages, and photographs. Nearly 70 works, spanning the artist’s seven-decade career, will be on exhibit celebrating the artist’s centennial. Some works will be on public view for the first time. Ellsworth Kelly at 100 is one of the largest retrospectives of Kelly’s work in the 21st century and the first internationally traveling exhibition organized by Glenstone. After Glenstone, the exhibition will continue to the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, and the Fire Station in Doha.

A selection of artworks by Kara Walker (American, b. 1969) will be in Room 1 of the Pavilions and outdoors. The works on view span many elements of Walker’s multifaceted practice, including drawing, collage, sculpture, and performance.
