The Market at Deere Valley opened in September 2023. Samantha Baker's vision to provide fresh, farm-raised meats came to fruition and was joined by a variety of locally produced products from in and around the Ag Reserve. Sam sees the market as being a place to not only enjoy what the Ag Reserve has to offer but also to learn about other farmers like the Bakers, artisans, & small businesses that make up this unique part of Montgomery County.   

This local treasure in Dickerson carries a wide array of their own farm-raised beef, pork & lamb, and local chicken products, which you may also see on the menus of your favorite local restaurants. They also stock raw milk artisan cheeses, dairy products, and local baked goods along with local honey, spices and sauces to allow you to create your own unique recipes. You may also find some unique craft items for that special gift. A new Food Truck is onsite Saturday 12 to 4 pm through October 21st. 

In addition to the market, the Bakers opened a soft serve ice cream shop window, the only soft serve ice cream shop in the Poolesville area. They always have chocolate and vanilla and two additional special flavors each week. Check the flavors on Thursdays for the week. Their ice cream will only be available through October 21st, so stock your freezer like an igloo to make it through until it reopens in the Spring. 

The Market at Deere Valley which has deep roots in the community, has been giving back to the area non-profits since the Ice Cream window opened. The girls who staff the window have been donating their tips to a different non-profit each month. During October the tips will benefit Poolesville Seniors, who provides opportunities for those over 50 to stay active and connected to the community. Plan ahead and fill your freezer with your favorite flavors through October!   Market hours are daily 10am-6pm. Ice cream window is open 12p-8pm. Both closed on Wednesdays.
