January 29th- April 15th – Maggie Nightingale Library – Volunteers from AARP Foundation Tax Aide will be on hand at the library on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to provide tax aide. Service is FREE to taxpayers of any age with low and moderate incomes. Special attention to those 60 and older. Book your appointment by March 1st to guarantee availability. March 9th – Riverworks Art Center – Made-in-Studio – Tiny Quilts –join Caitlin Robinson to learn to make a hand-sewn tiny quilt. 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.$20. Ages 12 and up

March 10th – Empty Bowls – Enjoy freshly baked bread and a bowl of Locals Farm Market soup in student-made bowl during this event presented by Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences, and Riverworks Art Center. Funds raised will support the Backpack Bites sponsored by WUMCO, KPC Buddhist Relief, and Poolesville Presbyterian’s Little Free Pantry. March 11th -Montgomery County Aging and Disability Resource Unit ADRU – Find the resources that you need for senior and disability problems at the Maggie Nightingale Library – 10:00 am to Noon. Continuing on the second Monday of each month thru March 2024.

March 14th – Senior Cardboard Regatta –Martin Luther King Jr. Indoor Swim Center – 1201 Jackson Road, Silver Spring, MD – 11:00 a.m. Come out to cheer on the Poolesville Seniors team!

May 4th 2024 – SpringFest – Annual BBQ, Beer, & Blues Festival – Whalen Commons – 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.

May 11th 2024 — Richard S. McKernon Youth Fishing Tournament at Stevens Park Pond – 9-11:00 a.m. All youths between the ages of 6 and 16 are invited to come on out and “catch some fun”. Cost is $1.00 and the event is held rain or shine.

June – August 2024 – Stevens Park Summer Recreation Program – 9:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.

July 4th 2024 – Poolesville Fireworks Celebration – Join our community in celebrating our national patriotism at the Soccer Fields off of Hughes Road! There will be music, food, fireworks and fun! Gates open at 5 pm.

Poolesville Baptist Church food distribution on Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. and Bread distribution on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. 

All are welcome to join the Poolesville Green “Carbon Footprint Challenge” a monthly drop-in zoom meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the Month, to learn to reduce your carbon footprint.
