Twyla’s Chair Yoga class is back starting on September 15th at 11am and it’s virtual! Each Chair Yoga class starts with a few minutes of breath work, then slowly flows into yoga poses aimed to build strength and lengthen tight muscles. Class ends with a short meditation and relaxation pose or Savasana. All poses can be modified to fit the student’s body type and ability. Yoga is a great tool to help the body reach homeostasis i.e., achieving a state of balance between everyday stress and challenges (fight or flight) and feelings of low energy and sluggishness (rest and digest). And most importantly, yoga can help to connect and ground the mind, body and breath to achieve better focus and a better relationship with oneself and with others.
