Dazzling Denali!

We are grateful to Poolesville’s own Tom Medema for his fabulous photos and stories about Denali National Park and Reserve. 

Tom recounted his unique and solitary experience as the Superintendent of this wilderness park in the “last” and “first” frontier, Alaska. 

Tom’s temporary assignment, in the midst of the Covid Pandemic, fostered a deep spiritual connection to the Denali landscape which the audience glimpsed in his awesome photos. 

We learned some of the history and culture of former Mount McKinley National Park which Tom calls “The Heart of America”.
