Jon Wolz led us on another amazing hike along the C&O Canal sharing the history and wildlife along the way. The group walked north from White’s Ferry to the LaTrobe Quarry where the adventurous and hardy hikers crossed the canal and climbed up a steep cliff to see the quarry. Jane Thompson was in the group and shared her botanical knowledge with us pointing out Mayapples, wild blue phlox, Virginia bluebells and much more. Posing for our cameras were many turtles sunning themselves on logs. Lunch at White’s Ferry Grill was taken to picnic tables along the river and where new friendships began. Wish you all could have been there.
