Join the PS! Book Club on September 18th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Lessons in Chemistry, the debut novel by Bonnie Garmus. DNA research chemist Elizabeth Zott is working in a man’s world in 1960’s. This funny, intelligent, opinionated single mother is an expert in her field of abiogenesis.  When the hostile work environment becomes toxic, her life is changed.  At the heart of the entertaining subplots and witty dialogue is the hard truth that, in 1961, a smart, ambitious woman had limited options. Themes of feminism and misogyny. Historical Fiction.

Bonnie Garmus is a copywriter and creative director who’s worked widely in the fields of technology, medicine, and education. She’s an open-water swimmer, a rower, and mother to two pretty amazing daughters. Born in California and most recently from Seattle, she currently lives in London with her husband and her dog, 99.
