Join Herbert Hane, a Holocaust survivor on May 4th at 7:00 p.m. when he recalls the experiences of his childhood as the son of a Lutheran mother and Jewish father growing up in Germany during the Holocaust, including Kristallnacht, and after WWII. May is Jewish American Heritage Month. Mr. Hane comes to us from the Baltimore Jewish Council’s Holocaust Remembrance Commission.
Presenter Short Bio:
In 1935, Mr. Hane was born Herbert Kahn in Lollar a small village of 2500 in Germany 30 miles from Frankfort. His mother was Lutheran, and his father was Jewish. He was baptized and raised Catholic for his own safety. Before he was born his father had already spent time in Osthofen, a concentration camp for political prisoners. Herbert was able to come to the US with his remaining family in 1946.
