SUMMARY:Trail Hike Little Bennett Regional Park: Pine Grove Trail
DESCRIPTION:Come join us on November 16th at 10:00 a.m. for a refreshing hike through the fall woods in Little Bennet Regional Park. We will hike a 5-mile loop of wooded\, natural trails starting on the Pine Grove Trail.  We’ll stop half-way for a short break before proceeding on the Sidewinder and Western Piedmont Trails. Bring water. Hiking shoes are recommended. The terrain is up and down and rocky in places.  Elevation gain is about 360 ft.  Pace will be moderate.   \nTo get to the starting point: Coming from Rte.109 to Hyattstown\, turn right onto 355. Just past the Hyattstown Fire Station turn left onto Hyattstown Mill Rd. Follow this to the parking area\, about 300 yards back.  \nRain date: November 21st. Watch the web site and your email for information in case of inclement weather.  \nWatch for other hikes in and around Montgomery County for Poolesville Seniors.  Once a month Gwen Haney and Karen Dansby will lead/tailgate a hike for Poolesville Seniors.  The hikes will be 4-6 miles and last approximately 2-3 hours.  A description will be given of the monthly hike with hiking recommendations.  \n  \nKaren Dansby was born and raised in Arlington\, VA. She spent 20+ years in eastern Kentucky\, then retired to Sedona\, AZ. Karen participated in trail maintenance in Sedona\, hiked and participated in Preventive Search and Rescue for almost 10 years at the South and North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  She moved back to Poolesville to be close to family.    \nGwen Haney grew up in rural PA but did most of her hiking while living in Arizona\, in the mountains and canyons of the southwest.
